Photography students on a field trip to Bratislava

28 maart 2019

Rice and Beans, a collective of 44 second year Bachelor Photography students from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) traveled to Bratislava to create a body of work over the course of one week. A demanding endeavour, but ultimately an incredibly fulfilling event for all involved.

The students worked for five intensive days and nights, engaging with stories across the photographic spectrum, incorporating film, performance, documentary, fashion and everything in between.

At the end of this intensive trajectory they produced a body of work to tell stories about the place, people and themselves, by researching, planning and coordinating a project proposal. The projects culminated into an exhibition which is open to the public until 14 April 2019 at Medium Gallery in Bratislava, Slovakia.

With their project, the KABK Photography students aspire to create a platform in which they can engage themselves and an audience in relevant topics for today's evolving society by using a visual language that unites us all.

The exhibition was supported by the Dutch Embassy in Bratislava.
