In June 2011 State Secretary Zijlstra announced a 200 million euro governmental cut on art and culture. As a consequence, countless art institutions and other cultural venues will be forced to close their doors from 2013 onwards. In recent months, cultural advocates have responded to the government’s plans by organising and attending massive protests.

Platform Beeldende Kunst — a collective of artists, critics, curators, cultural producers, designers, museum and gallery employees and other parties, will visually and textually present an overview of analyses and opinions on recent political developments in the Netherlands with regard to the drastic changes. Come and visit the information centre in the KABK library in the coming weeks!
