A graphic designer based in Amsterdam, Thomas Buxó founded his own studio after graduating from the Rietveld Academy in 1996 and was awarded the Prix de Rome Basisprijs in 1998. After years of designing mainly printed matter in the field of art, design or architecture, he is introducing code into his practice through his Headless Design research.
Buxó is an ardent advocate of free/libre open source software. He has taught at ECAL in Lausanne, the Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem and was a guest lecturer at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore. He teaches Typography and is class coach of the 4th year (graduation year).
