Maarten Kolk is Studio tutor for the 1st year students and Study Mentor for the 2nd to 4th year students both at the BA department of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at the KABK, the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
Maarten Kolk is a creative entrepreneur within the cultural sector. Together with Guus Kusters he is running two creative companies: MKGK, an applied design agency that focuses on (spatial) presentations for cultural institutions, and Kolk & Kusters, an artist duo that develops work with poetry and melancholy as the main themes.
He is active as a teacher in art and design education. At the KABK in The Hague he teaches various courses in different years. He had for 3 years an organizational role as team leader/Year head. At the Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE) he is associated with the design department ‘the Morning Studio’.
