Jakob Schlötter is a media artist and developer based in The Hague, NL. His practice revolves around experimental storytelling, striving to explore the hidden meanings in contemporary technologies, re-mixing found footage and working with interactive media.
He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague from 2009 to 2013, and CityU School of Creative Media in Hong Kong in 2013, where he also taught the course Embodied Media and Perception. He worked at the multimedia theater collective PIPS:Lab from 2011 to 2013 and at studio LUSTlab from 2013 to 2017 as an audiovisual developer and designer, and has his own freelance practice since 2011. He also taught at the Royal Academy of Art in 2014 (Guest teacher for Interactive Media Design) and in 2016-2017 (Sound Design IST course). Currently Jakob teaches Interactive Media Design at the Graphic Design Department of the Royal Academy of Art, Interactive Sound at HKU and runs the multidisciplinary design studio Pointer* together with Asya Sukhorukova.
