Admission requirements

Interested applicants should preferably have a design background with a graphic design bachelor to prove that. Students from other disciplines with a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of design (for example architecture, film or journalism) – are welcome to apply. Applicants should not be afraid of embracing new technologies and learning programming.

As part of the admission and selection procedure for the Master Non Linear Narrative at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague (KABK), you will be asked to provide examples of work (portfolio), motivation about your future plans and your choice to study with us and your curriculum vitae. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview.

General requirements

In order to apply for the master’s Fine Art & Design Non Linear Narrative at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, candidates

  • must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and
  • be proficient in both spoken and written English
    Non-EU/EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English Language proficiency.
    EU/EEA candidates' English language level will be assessed during their interview/entry examination day.

Specific requirements

In your application you'll need to provide the following:

  • Your digital portfolio (one PDF file max 20MB, max 30 pages, with maximum 200 words for each project description)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Letter of motivation

Application and portfolio deadline

In order to apply, you must first register in Studielink (Dutch national database for admission to higher education) and then gain access to our online application system OSIRIS where you will be asked to submit your documents including a portfolio.

The final deadline for submitting your application is 1 March.

Applications received between 1 March and 1 May will only be considered if a spot becomes available.
