Admission requirements

Interested applicants should preferably have a design background with a graphic design bachelor to prove that. Students from other disciplines with a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of design (for example architecture, film or journalism) – are welcome to apply. Applicants should not be afraid of embracing new technologies and learning programming.

General requirements

In order to apply for the master’s Fine Art & Design Non Linear Narrative at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, candidates

  • must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and
  • be proficient in both spoken and written English
    Non-EU/EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English Language proficiency.
    EU/EEA candidates' English language level will be assessed during their interview/entry examination day.

Specific requirements

In your application you'll need to provide the following:

  • Your digital portfolio (max 20MB, max 30 pages, with maximum 200 words for each project description)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Letter of motivation

Application deadlines

The Master Non Linear Narrative processes applications until all positions in the cohorts are filled. We work with the following deadlines:

1 March 2024 (priority deadline for EU/EEA students & final deadline for non-EU/EEA students)

1 May 2024 (final deadline for EU/EEA students)

We encourage EU/EEA students to submit your application by the priority deadline. By the final deadline, there is a possibility that a waiting list will have already been formed.

Note: Each application deadline entails registration via Studielink and submission of required documents incl. portfolio.
