Admission requirements
As part of the admission and selection procedure for the Master Interior Architecture at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague (KABK), we ask you to present a portfolio of your work and your motivation for choosing this master's programme.
You are expected to have developed an interdisciplinary approach to interior architecture, to feel a fascination for human needs and behaviour in a world whose social and cultural parameters are constantly changing, and to be well informed about recent developments in your specific field.

General Requirements
- Candidates must be BA or MA graduates of an art or design academy or an equivalent education. Or have demonstrable experience in spatial design and another BA diploma.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English
Non-EU/EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English Language proficiency.
EU/EEA candidates' English language level will be assessed during their interview/entry examination day.

You will be requested to present your reasons for wishing to enrol in the Master Interior Architecture on the basis of the following required documents:
The portfolio should give an impression of your motivation, ideas and skills relevant for a Master in interior architecture. Your PDF portfolio contains relevant work of your BA study and/or working experience or other creative activities like drawings, paintings, projects with renderings, pictures of models. Look for inspiration at the graduation projects of our alumni and online INSIDE magazine before composing your portfolio and don’t forget to include relevant initiatives you took and projects you have built outside your computer.
File specifications digital portfolio: PDF in 10-20 pages, max 5 MB (larger files are not accepted)
In the letter of motivation, we want you to give an overview of your current design activities and to describe your vision for the future. We would also like to know why you have chosen to apply for the Master Interior Architecture INSIDE.
We would like to invite you to take a good look at our latest INSIDE magazine, and write one alinea in which you motivate the match between your practice and our programme.

Application/portfolio deadline & admission dates
In order to apply, you must first register in Studielink (Dutch national database for admission to higher education) and then gain access to our online application system OSIRIS where you will be asked to submit your documents including a portfolio.
The application deadline for study year 2025 – 2026 was 1 March, but you can still apply until 1 May.
We will first process all applications submitted before the 1 March deadline. We expect plenty of spots to be available, so feel free to apply until 1 May. Because we do understand that the shift of the deadline from 1 May to 1 March was not known to everybody.
