The Bachelor Textile & Fashion department processes applications on a rolling basis from October to May, until all positions in the cohorts are filled.

In order to apply, you must first register via Studielink and then gain access to our application system where you will be asked to submit your documents including a portfolio.

The deadlines for submitting your portfolio and other required application documents for all candidates (EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA) are:

1 March (for all candidates)
11 April (for EU/EEA candidates only)

Read further about the general eligibility requirements as well as the specific requirements regarding your portfolio.

General requirements

  • High school diploma comparable to a Dutch VWO, HAVO or MBO 4 diploma. If you do not have the required diploma, but are able to prove - on the basis of an assessment authorised by the KABK - that you actually function at the desired level, you can also apply for admission.

  • Non-EU/EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English Language proficiency.
EU/EEA candidates' English language level will be assessed during their interview/entry examination day.

Specific admission requirements

As part of the admission and selection procedure for the Bachelor Textile and Fashion programme, you’ll be asked to prepare a digital portfolio with examples of earlier work and explain your motivation to study at the Textile and Fashion department of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.

What to submit

Your portfolio should include (pictures of) your work, sketches, material experiment, etc. We prefer to see work you did not make as a school assignment, but as an expression of your own fascination and creativity. Feel free to show the process of your work. From the early investigations and experiments to your most recent explorations.

In your letter of motivation, you’ll describe your interests and fascination for textile, fashion and art. We would like to get a clear idea of your passion and ambition for this field.

What to expect

One week after the deadline you will receive the result of your portfolio review.
You will either be invited for the admission day or your application ends here.
Due to high number of applications the selection committee cannot communicate about the content of the reviews
