Suzie van Staaveren wins Koninklijke Prijs voor Vrije Schilderkunst 2017

6 October 2017

Alumna Suzie van Staaveren (Fine Arts, 2016) is one of the four winners of the Koninklijke Prijs voor Vrije Schilderkunst 2017 (Royal Award for Modern Painting).

King Willem-Alexander presented the Royal Award for Modern Painting 2017 during the award ceremony on the 6th of October.

The Royal Award is annually presented to encourage talented young painters active in the Netherlands.

The award-ceremony, exhibition and presentation of the Royal Award are annually held in the Royal Palace Amsterdam. For the general public, the exhibition is often a first introduction to the work of young artists. For gallery owners, collectors and curators it’s a great way to discover new talent.

The exhibition is open to the public from 7 October until 5 November 2017 with works by the four winners and all nominees; among the later our alumni Steef Crombach, Paul de Jong, Mirthe Klück, Lilian Kreutzberger and Wieske Wester.

Congratulations all!
