The BA Fine Arts & BA Arts, Media and Society

Students of the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) can combine their bachelor Fine Arts program with the bachelor program Arts, Media and Society at Leiden University from the academic year 2017-2018. After four years, students will receive a bachelor's degree from both Leiden University and the KABK. The goal is to train artists who will actively participate in the discourse in the arts and society.

By aligning the study programs, an intensive program has been put together in which the creative fine arts education is combined with academic reflection and a theoretical basis in art and cultural-history. Students follow two regular studies at the same time, and after successful completion, they receive two Bachelor's diplomas. Entry to the BA Fine Arts & BA Arts, Media and Society is possible from the propaedeutic Fine Arts at the KABK; in the first-year students are selected to participate in this program.
