Studium Generale - Sara Reed with Camille Barton

Navigating the Complexities of Social Identities in Psychedelic Therapy

Guest: Sara Reed
Moderator:
Camille Barton

Pre-read/watch/listen material

Psychedelic therapy can be a gateway to help us access and connect with the deepest truths of our humanity. This therapy can also, however, reveal the embodied, psychological, and ancestral wounds that come from existing in a world that privileges whiteness and characteristics of white supremacy culture (e.g. perfectionism, power hoarding, scarcity mindset, etc.).

BIPOC communities continue to be left behind in psychedelic therapy research, calling attention to concerns around culturally responsible care in this form of medicine work. Join this session as the speaker and moderator explore navigating the complexities of social identities in psychedelic therapy.

*Examples of white supremacy culture provided in this description are part of a workbook titled "Dismantling Racism Workbook." To learn more about these and other characteristics of white supremacy culture, please view the following link: https://resourcegeneration.org
