KABK Preps Take Over Movies that Matter Festival

The Students' Choice program offers international students from the preparatory year of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague the unique opportunity to participate in the Movies that Matter Film festival, both in the role of filmmaker and juror. In the run-up to the festival, KABK preparatory year students have followed masterclasses and workshops by film professionals, made their own short human rights films.

These films will be screened on Monday 26 March. After the screening there will be talks, performances and music interventions.Special guest of the evening is Jordi Wijnalda, a young flim maker who has guided the students through the production process of their short films.

Every year at the end of March, Movies that Matter Festival comes to The Hague. Eighteen film theatres take turns to present a monthly film followed by a debate as part of the Movies that Matter on Tour. Together with numerous cultural and civil society organisations, they organise film screenings and related expansion programmes covering a wide array of topics.
