The necessary precautions have been taken so that students and staff can do their work safely. The academy building is provided with disinfectant solution, shielding material and tape to mark workplaces and walking routes. In the field of hygiene, we follow the advice of the Dutch government and the RIVM, as published here.

The following measures apply now at the KABK:

  • Face masks are mandatory again in the KABK building when moving around. You can take your face mask off when seated.
  • Respect the 1.5 metres distance. Wearing a face mask is mandatory in the workshops when a 1,5m distance cannot be kept.
  • Urgent advice to take a self-test at least twice a week before coming to the academy; you can pick up free self-test at the Rental or order free self-tests via zelftestonderwijs.nl.
  • Disinfect your hands regularly and sneeze or cough into your elbow.
  • Ventilation is very important; open a window where possible.
  • Stay home if you have symptoms -- regardless of whether you have been vaccinated -- and get tested; do not come to the academy. Not sure if you can come to the academy? Consult the KABK Flowchart "Can I Come to the Academy?'
  • Working from home advice for staff:
    We follow the national advice from the Dutch government for working from home. Please contact your head of the department to arrange who works where and when.

The workshops are open on the following days
Monday to Friday: from 9.00 - 21.30 hrs.
Saturday: 10.00 - 16.30 hrs.

For specific opening hours of each workshop please check the KABK Portal.

The workshops will have to be booked in advance via Asimut.

The workshops, rental, library and canteen are closed during the holiday breaks.

The regular opening hours of the academy building are:

Monday to Friday: 08.00 - 22.00 hrs
Saturday: 10.00 - 17.00 hrs
Sunday: closed

Yes, as of November 6, wearing a face mask is again mandatory in the academy. Students and staff will wear a face mask when moving around within the building. You can take your face mask off when seated.

In the KABK workshops:
When it is not possible to keep a 1,5m distance in the workshops, wearing a face mask is required.

The canteen is open during the regular opening periods of the academy. The canteen is closed during the holiday breaks.

The general RIVM guidelines regarding hygiene apply here too.
Payments should be made by PIN.

Only employees of the KABK can use the parking spaces at the academy and upon request via facilities@kabk.nl.

The nearest parking facility is Q-Park New Babylon. The KABK is best reached by bicycle or train, The Hague Central Station is only a 3-minute walk.
