‘Speculations on Trust and Currency’ was a project collaboration between the Graphic Design department of the Royal Academy of Art and the Bitcoin Foundation of the Netherlands. It explored the relationship between art, technology and innovation and included presentations of case studies during the Bitcoin Wednesday on 6 April 2016 at Lab111 in Amsterdam.
On 10 December, Human Rights Day, students Malik Saïb-Mezghiche, Evy van Schelt, Dana Doorenbos, Shen Fan, Léo Gauttier and Daan Retel of the Design Office course (Graphic Design) presented their view on the six nominees for the 2015 Human Rights Tulip in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 12 to 17 April 2016 The Royal Academy of Art The Hague presented its experimental and interdisciplinary exhibition RESET at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. In the intimate environment of a private penthouse in the heart of Ventura Lambrate, the exhibition received more than 23,000 visitors to its programme of performances, installations and design discussions.
