KABK Research Lab: Trance & Moving Image in EYE on Art
28 February 2017, 19.30 | EYE, Amsterdam

Academy-wide Research

Trying to excel, experiencing a journey, getting lost, watching a movie with our eyes closed, witnessing a dance listening to sound, meditating, trying to become no one.

With a touch on a wide range of practices as photography, fine arts, graphic and interactive media design the programme of the students of the Royal Academy of Art The Hague will focus on trying to visualise their personal experiences of trance and how they can convey those to the viewer.

Film will be combined with painting, animation and music but also dance performance, light and sound design in order to confront the variety of sensible spaces that the state of trance deals with.

Trance and Moving Image - Research Lab KABK

Language: English
Duration: 88 min
Tue 28 Feb 19:30 - 20:58  | Cinema 2 | EYE

The Research Labs in EYE on Art on 28 February and 16 May provide scope for a new generation of curators and artists to hone their skills. In these Research Labs, students from ten art academies and universities put together a programme involving their own work and films (including remixes) from EYE’s collection. The Research Labs do not follow a strict format and often result in a cultural crossover between film and other art forms. On 28 February and 16 May EYE will award a prize for the two best projects in collaboration with Heineken H41.
