An interdisciplinary and international team of students from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague presents live video art during the performance of 'Le Sacre du Printemps' with Residentie Orkest, from 4th till the 13th of October in Dr Anton Philipszaal.
Almost 100 years after the premiere of Stravinsky's masterpiece young talents from Fine Arts, Photography, Graphic Design and Interactive/Media/Design departments propose their own visual interpretation of the original ballet synopsis, based on a collage of found footage, computer-generated artworks, narrative sequences of self-made video loops and interactive image manipulation. By taking this experimental and educational trajectory students of the KABK attempt to discuss the actuality of 'Le Sacre' in the context of year 2012 and confront the audience with somewhat disturbing questions regarding the inevitable laws of nature, fragility of human condition and the challenges of the future.
