On Thursday, September 20, the Japanese interior and product designer and creative director Teruhiro Yanagihara a lecture at the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam. He talks about how he include Japanese traditional crafts and skills used in his work to create new designs. The lecture, organized by the Cultural Embassy Lloyd Hotel, starts at 20:00 and is free for everyone (after registration via rsvp@premsela.org).

Teruhiro Yanagihara
The Japanese interior and product designer Teruhiro Yanagihara (1976, Japan) graduated in 1999 at the Art Academy of Osaka, specializing in spatial design. In 2002 opened his own design Teruhiro Yanahihara Yanagihara / Isolation Unit. In 2005 he released under this brand its own product line. Besides interior and product design keeps Yanagihara also deals with branding and creative direction. He does this for national and international brands, such as: Less is more (Japan), Kimura Glass (Japan) Sergio Rossi (Italy), Palluco (Italy) and many others. The Isolation Unit name originated from the principle that things and people are connected. Important for design is that objects in their surroundings.
In 2011 started Yanagihara labeled 'Bespoke', under this name he develops exclusive projects with Japanese artisans and manufacturers. In 2010 he was nominated for the Elle Decor Young Talent Award. He is also the founder of the annual symposium Design East and the creative director of the brand new Karimoku New Standard.
