1 - 11 September
One Piece A Day
From 1 - 11 September the graduation project of Maarten Schenkeveld is on display in the Hoge zaal. The exhibition opens on Saturday, September 1 at 17:00 pm.
The inquisitive young designer, fresh from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, presents his graduation project One Piece A Day.
One day, an idea, an object. This concept describes the work of Maarten Schenkeveld. His graduation project is a search for design in restrictions. The restrictions form the objects. Schenkeveld makes use of a specific inflation technique. The different foils and textile materials form a flexible mould, which makes the liquid raw material get its final shape. Schenkeveld, as it were, directs the material, which also finds its own way, the way of the least resistance.
The HKK invited this young, talented and promising designer to show his work in the Hoge zaal. At the same time, some of his other work is on show at two other galleries in The Hague: Gallery Helder (until 2 September) and Studio 40.
