The newly graduated interior designer Nienke Heijes shows her repurposing design 'the ProeFFabriekt" and the all-in-1 ‘stamppot’ (hotchpot) pan 'Stampeet' during the exhibition "the future of our food" in the Kunstfort Asperen.

For the exhibition "the future of our food" in the Art Fort Asperen recently graduated designers are asked to give their views on future food issues.

Nienke Heijes brings the production of food back to its original place in the Hague. At the exact location where once stood the mills of the city, now stands the abandoned Advent Church. She has transformed the church into a new destination: the ProeFFabriek, a place where people can plant, harvest, eat, experiment and more to learn about food.

One of the activities in the 'ProeFFabriek' includes the cutting, cooking and mashing of fresh seasonal ingredients from the gardens in the 'Stampeet': an all-in-1 hotchpot pan which makes it possible to make and enjoy a hotchpot meal together.

The exhibition "the future of our food 'is on show this summer from July 14th - 23th September in the Arts Fort Asperen, an interesting location for this theme given the historic relationship of the fort to food and eating.

The opening of the exhibition takes place on Saturday, 14 July 2012 from 14.00.
