Photographer and writer Hans Aarsman gives a lecture at the 21st of March at 15.00 hr in the Auditorium of the Royal Academy of Art. The lecture is meant for all students and tutors of the KABK.
Hans Aarsman (Amsterdam 1951), photographer and writer, started his career as a photojournalist at the newspaper Trouw. In 1989 he travelled around The Netherlands for a year, and photographed the landscape from the roof of his camper. Aarsman published these photos in the book Hollandse Taferelen (Dutch Scenes, 1989), followed by three other publications on photography. Aarsman then set aside his camera and wrote several plays and novels, such as Twee hoofden, één kussen (Two heads, one pillow, 1995.) Currently Aarsman writes on the subject of photography, for, among others, the newspaper Volkskrant, and teaches at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. His first theatre programme, De Aarsman Projectie, can be seen at De Kleine Komedie since February 2012.
