What happens in the future matters to us, so it should not be surprising that how the future unfolds has a direct effect on how we feel. The mechanism of expectation and the anticipation on what is about to happen, have triggered the curiosity of psychologists and cognitive scientists, but it also raises questions that attract the attention of the “practitioners” of these mechanisms. Artists are such practitioners.

Alumnus Ad Stijnman wins Karel van Manderprijs 2015

The Karel van Mander 2015 prize was awarded to our Fine Arts alumnus Ad Stijnman for his publication Engraving and etching from 1400 to 2000 : A history of the development or manual intaglio printmaking processes ( 2012 ) during the Art History Day of the Society of Dutch Art historians (VNK) in the Van Gogh Museum on 13 November 2015.
