In the context of the celebrations of the 400 years of diplomatic relations between Turkey and The Netherlands ten poets from the HKK (Hague Art Circle) wrote works about their relation with Turkey. Next to that ten poems of contemporary Turkish writers have been translated to Dutch. Students of the Graphic Design department from Do. (Design Office) of the Royal Academy of Art created (typo)graphic visualizations of the poetry. The Public Library in The Hague is exhibiting the results of this project from 11th till 30th of November 2012.

For the sixth year in a row The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague will present itself at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. The presentation LIVE FACTORY MAKE MY DAY will take place in Ventura Lambrate from Tuesday 9 April until Sunday 14 April 2013. LIVE FACTORY MAKE MY DAY consists of three closely connected zones, which explore various notions of the production process. Students and alumni of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague will experiment with raw materials, techniques and forms in the LIVE FACTORY production line. Daily performances will put to the test a human simulation of machines. Visitors can see the results of students’ research in a dynamic, continually growing exhibition.

Last Sunday April 21st the NTR programme Kunststof TV announced Femmy Otten the winner of the Volkskrant Beeldende Kunst Prijs 2013. Femmy Otten graduated in 2004 from the Fine Arts department of the Royal Academy of Art The Hague. This prestigious award for young and in the Netherlands residing artists is initiated by Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant, Dutch broadcasting NTR and the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam.
