Important information for all students: admission and payment 2008-2009
As of the study year 2007-2008 there is a change in the Dutch law with regard to students’ addresses and the funding schools receive for their students. The schools will only receive funding if their students officially live in the Netherlands, Belgium or the German Federal States of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Bremen. Therefore, at the beginning of the school year you have to hand in a copy of your registration at the population records of the municipality (bevolkingsregister). If, on October 1st 2008, your address is not situated in the above area, the school has no other option than to double the study fees, so instead of € 1.565,- you will have to pay € 3.130,-. This to partly compensate the school's loss of study funding by the government because of you not living in the requested area.
Student Card
As proof of enrollment, students receive a student card after tuition fees have been paid. Students need this card to use various facilities throughout the academy, for example the library. Certain stores give discount to student card holders, and both national and international museums recognize the card for student discount on entry fees.
Facility Card
All payments within the academy are made with chip card, the so-called Facility Card (FC). Students can add money onto the card with cash or bankcards next to the photocopier. Photocopies, phonecalls, printing and payments in studios and workshops can only be made using the FC. In the future the FC will also serve as a key to gain entrance into the academy. The FC can be bought at the Financial Administration Office.
